Race report by Ty Tessmann
I ran in both the 1/8 e-buggy and 1/8 e-truggy classes, this was the first time I had ever driven an electric truggy let alone raced one, I had a lot of fun.

Wednesday was the first day of practice and we spent that time getting the cars dialed in, I felt that things were going pretty well, going into Thursday's seeding practice.

I seeded 1st in truggy and 2nd in buggy, but for some reason on Thursday my battery consumption went up by a lot so for the first time ever I was forced to run the full sized pack in my e-buggy to make run time. I am assuming it had a lot to do with the speed of the track and the extreme temperatures. We did some bench tuning to try and adjust the buggy for the extra weight.

Friday was the first day of qualifying, in truck qualifying things went really well I was able to TQ 3 of the 4 rounds, it was super close between Maifield and myself in every qualifier. In buggy it was a bit different, we had a couple of issues through qualifying but I was still able to get a 2 and a 3 which put me starting 4th on the grid.

Sunday was mains day, the 1st buggy main started off with a bit of chaos, after the big table in front, Cav's car shut off for some reason causing a big pile up allowing Maifield to pull away. After the pile up I was in 3rd and was able to pass 2nd shortly after but was unable to catch up to Maifield and would end with 2nd. In A2 I pushed hard to try and get by Spencer but he held the door shut for a while until I was able to get by into 3rd, and by this time Maifield in the lead had created a gap once again but I was able to make up some ground to Cavelieri, at this time his car would shut off again and fly off the track so I inherited 2nd, I pushed hard but was not able to catch Maifield and had to settle for 2nd.

In A3 the track was much wetter than it had been so the tires I chose for the 3rd A-main were too hard for the heavily watered conditions. I made a big mistake very early in the race which took me all the way down to the back of the pack where I did my best to make my way back up to the front, I had a good battle with Spencer for 4th place, I tried to get by but was unable to do it and had to settle for 5th place, but my two 2nd place finished gave me 2nd overall. I felt my buggy was really good unfortunately it took me a little bit to get a setup with the full size battery and I was not in the hunt for the win.

In truggy A1, the race was a bit hectic, there were a lot of crashes and position changes, but I was able to keep the lead for the race and take the win. A2 was probably the most exciting race of the weekend, Maifield and myself had an awesome battle for the entire 8 minutes. There were times I could pull away but then he would close the gap, in the end I was able to hang on and take the win, giving the overall win in truggy.
